At Anderson we know that the weakest link of any two way radio system is the battery. An Underperforming Battery reduces talk-time. In Mission Critical applications a battery near end of life may impede the reception or transmission of vital Mission Critical or Life-Safety information.
Traditional "Fuel gauges" that are visible on two-way radio LCD screens or a voltage reading appearing at the radio's start up, ....nor do colored LED lights on battery chargers... provide End Users with details about the actual condition of the battery. "When does one rotate, exchange, or replace a battery?"
The two way radio battery is the backbone of the transceiver.
Because of the pivotal role batteries play in life safety, we have priced our Smart-iNTELLi Battery at a slight premium over our conventional, non-smart batteries. Use them to win clients with your two way radio solution offering Smart-iNTELLi batteries and eliminating radio competition, or, increase accessory sales offering existing clients our smart battery technology.
Our chargers are multi-chemistry, charge our Smart-iNTELLi (TM) , Motorola Impres (TM), as well as standard batteries just by changing out the battery cups.
Why Buy an OE Battery when for a minimal premium you can procure a larger capacity battery with SMARTS!
WE SUPPORT RADIO DEALERS WITH A DEALER PROGRAM AND MARGIN!
Celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year, Anderson Electronics (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. with Sales Offices in the US and UK has supplied its customers with more than a just OE and replacement batteries. We are a business partner, a trusted provider of the highest quality rechargeable batteries for Mission Critical two-way radio and scanner applications. Our business is 90% export, and all batteries sold are backed by a solid guarantee, 18 months from date of purchase by the end user. You may visit our conventional battery web site at: www.adsbattery.com
This web site focuses on our affordable, INTELLI-SMART BATTERY TECHNOLOGY. EU & North American offices managed by Kirmuss & Asscociates.
Our Intelli-Smart (TM) Battery has been developed after listening to our client's specific needs where traditional batteries and systems do not provide the end user with accurate information as to battery condition, performance and capacity.
how batteries are made:
A story for a reason: Rechargeable batteries and chargers:
...our full-time passion,
...our attention to detail,
... it's our Mission.
We are the manufacturer, not a distributor.
Each cell received is individually tested over a two day period
by our own in-house designed testing apparatus.
Batteries undergo a time consuming process over time where
batteries are charged and heated, discharged, analyzed, then
recharged, then further analyzed.
Cells come from Panasonice in Japan, (formerly Panasonic and
Sanyo). Rated Grade A, and even in coming from such reputable
manufacturers with test reports, the cells upon receipt are first
first quarantined, then brought to our incoming inspection center
where they are intentionally stressed, then tested, then graded and
finally sorted before being transferred to stores. Computers monitor
individual cell performance during stress-testing.
Even PCB boards that are used are thermal cycled before being
sent to assembly.
Cells undergo a final balance test and analysis before ever being
considered to be assembled into a battery.
As mentioned and where individual cells make up batteries, the
batteries themselves also at various stages in production
undergo multiple tests such as vibration, charge and discharge,
including final IP-67 testing if applicable before they are shipped worldwide.
90% of our production is destined for overseas markets.
SMART provides end users with the confidence in their two way radio’s battery that it is up to the challenge and needs of an operational period or shift. Adding a PCB inside the battery that communicates to a SMART charger, and with no computer required or skill sets, anyone can quickly determine battery capacity and longevity.
This Patent Pending Technology was initially developed by ANDERSON in 2014 and was tested with select two way radio manufacturers as well military, resulting in an affordable standard battery and charger replacement and a SMART battery management system.
Everything that one needed to know in how to manage a battery program and see the battery's condition was displayed within minutes on the ANDERSON SMART-iNTELLi battery charger's LCD display. Priced as a traditional combination battery rapid charger and conditioner: No computer equipment needed, no decoding of colored LED lights. No significant Price Premium for an End-User, Two Way Radio Dealer or Radio Manufacturer in adopting ANDERSON SMART-iNTELLi BATTERY (TM) Technology over non-smart OE batteries.
Added where the ANDERSON SMART-iNTELLI Battery Charger may also charge conventional non-smart batteries as well as a mix and match of two way radio battery makes and models at the same time in the same charger by simply by exchanging battery cups in each battery charger slot position. Compatible with Motorola Impres™ style batteries.
A PRIMER ON CIURRENT BATTERY TECHNOLOGY
Two way radio rechargeable batteries are produced in many different shapes and sizes. Cells are used to create battery packs, combining a number of cells inside a plastic case which are sometimes intrinsically safe or waterproof and thus creating the desired operating voltage and current capacity. Several different combinations of electrode materials and electrolytes are used, including lead–acid, nickel cadmium (NiCd), nickel metal hydride (NiMH), lithium ion (Li-ion), and lithium ion polymer (Li-ion polymer).
During charging, the positive active material is oxidized, producing electrons, and where conversely, the negative material is reduced, consuming electrons. These electrons constitute the current flow in the external circuit (your radio). The electrolyte inside the battery may serve as a simple buffer for internal ion flow between the electrodes, as in lithium-ion and nickel-cadmium cells, or it may be an active participant in the electrochemical reaction, as in lead–acid cells. Irrespective, batteries have issues if they are: over-charged; over discharged, under-charged. All affecting longevity and may impede mission critical communications affecting one’s life safety. In other instances, End-Users determine battery replacement with little or no information from a battery charger.
How does an End User know of these conditions and the state of the battery?
When to replace a battery and discard a battery?
When is “end-of-life?
The two way radio’s LCD display and traditional battery charger LED lights provide little information to the End User that are of any consequence. Voltage measurements mean nothing as a suspect battery needs to be analyzed, taking much time, time that End Users do not have. With sales hype abounding, many End Users use a battery conditioner in trying try to blindly subject a discharged battery with a current in the direction which tends to discharge it further, rather than charge it. Called “reverse charging”, pushing current through a discharged cell (or battery) in this way causes undesirable and irreversible chemical reactions to occur, resulting in permanent damage to the cell. Further inadvertently reducing “talk-time”. Blindly, the End User with these type of battery conditioners expect this method to improve battery life span or recover batteries when near end of life all to find out where once the battery is used in the field and called into service, the 2 way radio may not transmit. Added, both under and overcharging a battery where the latter causes heat which further undermines the goal of the End User in maximizing battery talk-time or life.
Of late, “Smart Chargers” and the development of “Smart Battery Technology” provides a partial solution to the above mentioned deficiencies in a valiant attempt in extending battery life span. Batteries that use this technology include circuitry inside the battery that communicates the health of the battery as measured by a circuit inside the battery reported to the charger, or to the device itself using the battery (as a host) as to gain information as to the number of uses of the battery. These batteries and chargers use additional pins to either or communicate with the battery and charger as well as to perform discharge and battery conditioning functions and authenticating the battery with the charger and thus and reading its data. All too often they all require an external and complicated software suite for the End User to make sense of the data. For End Users, this is too complicated. For radio manufacturers, this requires new cases and an entire new line of battery chargers and where this new technology is not backwards or forwards compatible with other SMART or conventional batteries, or other makes and models of radios, batteries, battery chemistries.
The solution: ANDERSON SMART-iNTELLi BATTERY Technology.
